CARLOS LYRA FOR CHILDREN
IN THE CHILDREN’S MUSICAL THE DRAGON AND THE FAIRY
The story takes place at the turn of the century or the beginning of this. A narrator (the Story Teller ) conducts the fable. “Once upon a time...” and intervenes, when necessary, to complement with information and diverse observations. It is the story of a group of children who play in a park, under the supervision of a school principal: the "Fairy Godmother". The incessant attempts to go play outside the Park, in the unknown Woods, lead the Fairy to warn the children of the innumerous dangers in the Woods with savage animals and a horrible and evil Dragon.
The story develops with various lessons in character and exciting adventures, interspersed with songs sung by all the characters. It has the sweetness and the enchantment of old-fashioned fairy tales with a modern dynamism, transporting adults back to their childhood, and presenting children a story of “Once upon a time there was a Fairy, when Fairies had a time. The world was colored pink and three and three were…nine.”
